Who Lauren Flynn is……

Lauren Flynn is running for Grand Traverse County Commission to be the voice for the constituents of District 2. Flynn, who has a master’s degree in Business Management, is a Senior Education Partnership Representative at Davenport University, located at the Northwestern Michigan College University Center and the new Director of Party Operations for the Grand Traverse Democrats.

As a professional she is passionate about developing, retaining, and growing local talent in our area. She believes Grand Traverse can model what it means to be a sustainable, diverse, economically-growing community that serves as a good steward of the county’s natural and human resources.

Flynn also serves on the Board of Directors for Generations Ahead, a non-profit organization supporting the teen and young parents of Grand Traverse County. Moving to Grand Traverse County 18 years ago, she has raised her two children as a single mom.

Her experience working multiple jobs, pursuing higher education, and striving for the best for her family has helped shape a deep understanding and commitment to seeking solutions for key issues like affordable housing, quality mental health care, and child care in this community.

She is looking forward to the opportunity to listen and learn as she works to earn the support of voters in District 2 and the rest of the community, and she is ready to put in the work to ensure Grand Traverse County is a thriving, welcoming, and healthy place for all to raise their families, now and in the future
