What I stand for!

I stand for solving the problems that face this community! I want to partner and build relationships with entities that can educate, guide, and collaborate with the GT County Board of Commissioners and other municipalities to deal with the issues at hand, and create a better Grand Traverse County for all for years to come. I will lead the charge with transparency, integrity, and accountability, three of my core values. Review my top concerns for our county and how I plan to help

Continuing to work on…

  • Our county is growing, but we need to ensure there is year round cost effective housing for the people and families that live, work and go to school in Grand Traverse County. As a commissioner, I will work to lead the collaboration to work with townships, the city, non profits, and other community leaders to evaluate and solve our economical housing crisis!

  • The current Board has recently voted to dissolve the partnership with NLCMH with a researched plan to do so. If the clock has started to separate before I am sworn in, I will dutifully work with all commissioners, mental health experts, and community members to ensure that no one goes without services. If the opposite occurs, I will work very closely with the board and wonderful clinicians at NLCMH to ensure clear communication and that goals and next steps are set and met to serve our community.

  • Childcare and early childhood education has been treated as a service for the ones who could afford it rather than the public good that it should be. Public investment from the Board and local companies is necessary to ensure that children are learning early and parents are able to enter the workforce.

  • Our natural resources are on our only priority, how human resources are just as valuable and impressive. We as a community need to support the population who want to up-skill themselves with degrees, certificates, and trade schools to develop, retain, and grow our local talent to sustain our economic growth. We must enact policy that not only retains tourism, but also supports the people who work in our restaurants and shops, the teachers who dedicate themselves to our children, all the others that keep our County running and beautiful.
